Meeting of the Building the Common Future partners

Solid Edge course

In the last days of September our school hosted students and teachers from Italy and Turkey. This visit was part of a partnership project called "Building the Common Future" conducted within the framework of Leonardo da Vinci.

The aim of the meeting was a trainning course of the Solid Edge ST. This software will be used in designing the final products of our project. Participants, who were the teachers and students from secondary vocational schools in Kayseri and Genova know the capabilities of Solid Edge and received tips how to use it when designing the device that is the final product. The leaders of this course were the PCKU's teachers: Michał Weczerek and Artur Hausman with the help of the teacher of English from PCKU - Irena Pluta. PCKU, which also participates in this project was organizing the practice course.

In addition to hard work in the classroom there was also time to visit a mining gallery and other attractions. Participants of the training, some of whom were also our students: Marek Czyż, Przemysław Hajski, Jakub Szendzielorz, Mateusz Barteczko and Maciej Polak had the opportunity to see the laboratories at the Faculty of Mechanics and Technology of Silesian Technical University in Gliwice and Guido historic mine in Zabrze. Guests also visited the company's production halls Haberkorn, which will assist all of partners during the project. Great impression was made by a visit in the museum at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

At the same time in Katowice Women's European Championships in volleyball were taking place with the participation of Turkish and Italian national teams. The Italians and the Turks (and our students who hosted them at their homes) saw their national teams matches in Katowice. Young people from Turkey and Italy participated in the Boys Day and the Day of Foreign Languages, furthermore they got acquainted with our students not involved in the project's activities.

The project coordinators in each school: Mirosław Michalewski, Michał Weczerek, Giovanni Vallebona and Yakup Yuksel also set the dates of the next visits. Until then, we have a lot of work on designing our final product.
